Last Saturday saw the conclusion of the most successful Cambridge Day event in Bulgaria to date – a day dedicated to English Language teaching, which drew over 500 teachers and colleagues in the ELT sector, including officials from the Bulgarian Ministry of Education.

Featuring a thorough, detailed programme of professional seminars and presentations on a wide range of ELT related issues, the event was organized with the collaboration of PONS, Cambridge University Press and Cambridge ESOL and was opened by the British Ambassador in Bulgaria, Mr. Jonathan Allen. The  presentations mainly focused on the value, benefits and teaching tips towards the Cambridge English YLE, First and Advanced exams as well as new course books and auxiliary publications offered by Cambridge University Press for pristine in-class preparation. The attendees also had the opportunity to visit Cambridge ESOL, Cambridge University Press and PONS information desks so as to get all the latest information on Cambridge exams and publications. Highlights of the event also included PONS’ Annual English Language Awards Ceremony and a performance of the 8 winners of the Creative Works Competition, who received free participation to the Cambridge ESOL exam of their choice as a prize.

Cambridge ESOL would like to thank all its colleagues in Bulgaria for their continuous support as clearly demonstrated in the success of the Cambridge Day Sofia 2012 event. We look forward to seeing you all again in one of our future teacher events in Bulgaria.
