BEC Candidate Competitions 2012 – your chance to win an Apple iPad 2, 16GB

Have you taken a Cambridge English: Business Certificate, also known as Business English Certificates (BEC), and been awarded a Pass or above?

Or have you enrolled for a Cambridge English: Business Certificate in 2012? Are you planning to?

If so, you have the chance to win an Apple iPad 2, 16GB.

Cambridge ESOL is running two candidate competitions. All you need to do for either competition is:

a) submit a written testimonial about BEC via an electronic form
or
b) film a one minute video testimonial about BEC and submit this electronically

You must be over 18 when you make your entry to the competition.

Competition One – If you have your result before 15 June 2012

If you are over 18 and have already taken a Cambridge English: Business Certificate and been awarded a Pass or above at any time in the past, this competition is for you. You should either a) submit a written entry or b) film yourself speaking in English for a maximum of 1 minute, on one of the topics below:

  • How a Cambridge English: Business Certificate has helped me in the workplace
  • Why I would recommend a Cambridge English: Business Certificate to others

Key dates (Competition One)

  • 27 May 2012 – Entry deadline (entries must be submitted by midnight GMT 27 May 2012)
  • 15 June 2012 – Winners contacted

If you take a Cambridge English: Business Certificate in 2012 but don’t have your results by 15 June, you can enter Competition Two.

Competition Two – If you get your result after 15 June 2012

If you are over 18 and take a Cambridge English: Business Certificate in 2012 and are awarded a Pass or above after 15 June (but before 5 September), you can enter this second competition. You should either a) submit a written entry or b) film yourself speaking in English for a maximum of 1 minute, on one of the topics below:

  • Why I chose a Cambridge English: Business Certificate
  • Why I would recommend a Cambridge English: Business Certificate
  • Why it’s important to study Business English

Key dates (Competition Two)

  • 5 June 2012 – Competition opens
  • 5 September 2012 – Entry deadline (entries must be submitted by midnight GMT 5 September 2012)
  • 26 September 2012 – Winners contacted

Prizes

There will be 3 winners from each competition. Each winner will receive an Apple iPad 2, 16GB.

Terms and conditions

The entrants will be judged on which video clip explains the importance of Business English and the impact it can have on your life and career.

a) Written Testimonial – How to enter

1. Read the Terms and Conditions

2. Fill in the entry form on Survey Monkey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5QRL8P5 and type in your written entry in the correct section and press ‘submit’.

b) Video Testimonial – How to Enter

1) Visit the YouTube website at www.YouTube.com. If you need to sign up for an account follow the ‘Create Account’ link in the top right hand corner. If you already have a YouTube or Google account, sign in as usual.

2) To create a YouTube account follow the instructions on screen and confirm the account by clicking on the link in the email you will be sent.

3) Once you have registered follow the link ‘Upload’ on the top navigation bar. You will be taken to this page: http://upload.youtube.com/my_videos_upload.

4) Press the ‘Upload video’ button and browse your computer for the video file you wish to upload.

5) Once it has uploaded, under the dropdown header ‘Video information and privacy settings’ find the ‘Privacy’ section and click on the radio button ‘Unlisted’. Save changes.

6) Further down the page you will find the header ‘Sharing options’. Copy and paste the URL from the box and submit via the Entry form by clicking on the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5QRL8P5.
