Getting from PET to FCE for schools by Bob Obee, Professional Support Leader, Cambridge English Language Assessment

Bob Obee was formerly Director of Studies of the British Council teaching centres in Athens and Kuala Lumpur and is author of popular course and supplementary ELT materials. He currently works as a Professional Support Leader for Cambridge English Language Assessment with specific responsibility for the management of Speaking Tests in the region of South East Europe.

10:30 – 11:30:
Engage, Motivate, Learn by Peter Lucantoni

Peter Lucantoni has been teaching, teacher training and writing teaching and learning materials for over 30 years, and has an MA in TESOL from the University of Edinburgh. He is the author and co-author of several popular coursebooks for students, including IGCSE English as a Second Language, and regularly speaks at international conferences as well as training teachers worldwide. Peter is a course tutor for Cambridge CELTYL, CELTA & DELTA, and an assessor for Cambridge CELTYL. This workshop will offer some broad motivational ‘macrostrategies’ for increasing learner motivation. Teachers will discuss what ‘engage’ and ‘motivate’ mean, take part in some activities, and reach some conclusions about the most effective strategies for motivating learners to learn.

ICT Starters for enhancing English language skills by Chryso Christodoulou

Chryso Christodoulou is the founder of FUNecole® Research Institute and the co-founder of Digipro® Computer Consultants. She is the designer and author of the FUNecole® Creative Leaning Environment. FUNecole® is endorsed by University of Cambridge International Examinations and recognized best practice educational approach by the European Commission. She is an external educational expert for the Institute of Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) on various educational research projects.
