Invitation to a Teaching Tips seminar for Cambridge English: Advanced

Cambridge English Language Assessment and British Council Bucharest are pleased to invite you to a jointly organized seminar, with the support of BETA, focusing on the New Writing Assessment Criteria as well as on Teaching Tips for the Speaking paper for the Cambridge English: Advanced examination.

The seminar will include the following sessions:

1) 09:30-10:30
Prepare for success at Cambridge English: Advanced Speaking
by Aniella Busila, Cambridge English Consultant

The aim of this session is to consider typical mistakes made by candidates in both preparing for and taking the Cambridge English: Advanced Speaking test and discuss activities that teachers can do with their students to prepare them for the test.

2) 10:45-11:45
New Writing Assessment Criteria for CAE
by Alice Cojocaru, British Council Presenter

According to research, there are three main elements which writers use when they are producing a piece of written text – the cognitive element, the language element and the socio-linguistic element. This session will describe how these elements are reflected in the new Cambridge English assessment criteria for writing.
