If you are an inexperienced teacher and would like to learn how to engage teenage learners or an experienced teacher in search for more information on keeping teenage learners steadily involved in class, you can register for a specially designed course on Cambridge English Teacher aimed at offering you the best of advise and practical tips towards successfully managing a class of teenagers.

Course summary:

This course is designed to familiarise you with effective practices for engaging teenage learners.

As many of the tasks within this course are classroom-based, you will find it more useful if you are currently teaching.

You should already have:

  • English at B1 level or higher What’s this?
  • an interest in learning more about teaching activities that motivate teenagers


You will be awarded a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course.


By the end of the course you should be able to:

  • understand teenagers in the 21st century better
  • know what engages your teenage learners in the classroom
  • reflect upon your own teaching practice


Online self-study
The tasks within this course encourage you to reflect upon your current teaching practice and to develop new ideas.

To successfully complete the course, you will be required to:

  • check your progress and understanding, through a range of interactive activities
  • participate in discussion forums with other teachers
  • keep a learner journal

An end-of-course quiz will provide feedback on your progress and suggest areas for revision, where appropriate.

Course duration:

10 hours; 10 units

You have 6 months to complete the course.
