Satu Mare’s Mihai Eminescu National College received an official preparation centre certificate, honouring the school’s consistent participation in Cambridge English exams. The certificate was awarded in the opening ceremony for the new school year 2014 – 2015 by Cristian Veres, Manager of Eurolingva Examination Centre and Steluta Stefănescu, Cambridge English’s consultant for Romania. Achieving examination venue status for Mihai Eminescu College came as a result of its collaboration with Eurolingva Examination Centre. The Cambridge English examination sessions held so far at the school have seen a participation of more than 100 students.

Steluta Stefănescu handed the Cambridge English: First and Cambridge English: Advanced certificates to succesful students who took the exams in the June 2014 session. The school management team and the guests congratulated all candidates who passed the exam in the previous school year, encouraging the other students to follow their example especially since Cambridge certificates create opportunities for them to study abroad.

All exams were taken on a computer, which is a modern method with many benefits, favored by the vast majority of young people. The format is easy to understand, the timer helps candidates better organise their time while writing becomes more accessible since keeping within the word range is much easier to follow. Candidates also have faster access to results, which are normally released just two weeks after the exam.
Cambridge provides assessment that is fit for purpose, assessing language skills to meet international standards and offering certificates that maintain their validity and value for life. Cambridge English exams are recognized by an impressive number of universities worldwide.
