leave a comment »

22 April was an important date for all the children and their teachers who took part in Cambridge Selection YLE competition organised by Blackbird Language School in 30 primary schools from Čačak, Kraljevo, Užice, Požega, Arilje and Ivanjica since this was the day when the knowledge and efforts were awarded in “Dom kulture“ Čačak.

This festive occasion gathered around 800 people and esteemed guests among who were Aleksandra Sekulić (Cambridge English Consultant), Danijela Veljković (YALS – Association of Language Schools in Serbia), Jelka Bogić (CUP). In addition, students from Gornji Milanovac prepared short performances in English which were warmly welcomed by their peers.

Excalibur Exam Centre supported the event and, among other things, rewarded the best three students with an opportunity to take the YLE exam free of charge. What is more, Cambridge English recognised the efforts of the teachers and gave away a one-year membership to one teacher who took part in the competition along with Cambridge English t-shirts for some of the most successful candidates.

The proud winner of Cambridge English Teacher one – year membership award was Mrs Sladjana Bošković from primary school “Kirilo Savić” in Ivanjica. We congratulate the winner and hope this award will help her achieve even more professional success.

Apart from these, there were many more valuable awards for the diligent students such as free English classes,  7 Zlatibor Summer School awards, caps, books and more free of charge exams provided by Language School Blackbird  and books for the volunteers of on the spot Spelling Bee contest (provided by CUP).

In the end, Excalibur Exam Centre would like to thank our colleagues and partners, Blackbird Language School, who were the initiators and organisers of the entire competition. Nonetheless, we are appreciative to all the teachers and students who recognised the importance of the English language knowledge and were willing to test it. We would like to end on a very positive note by wishing all the participants a lot of success in the future and hoping we will have an opportunity to see all those happy faces in the future again.
