May 2015. A huge Cambridge Day took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on the 25th April. ELT experts delivered a variety of professional seminars and presentations on a wide range of ELT related issues focusing on information and tips on the best available practices that can optimize teaching in the classroom.

Sarah Ellis, Head of Assessment Services, Cambridge English Southern Europe, who has extensive teacher training experience, demonstrated some practical examples along with methodology on how to improve students’ speaking and writing skills in levels B1 to C1. She commented on her experience there: “Teachers at the Cambridge Day in Sofia were clearly highly committed to professional development and keeping up to date.  They participated very actively in the sessions I led on speaking and writing and it was great to see teachers exchanging ideas and sharing professional expertise.

Cambridge Day Sofia 2015 attracted more than 800 Bulgarian teachers, who had the chance to talk directly to Cambridge English representatives and get informed of the latest developments on our exams. The teachers who attended the event were asked to answer a survey about their overall experience of the Cambridge Day and an impressive 84,51% found it Very Good, while 14,08% found it Good.

The event was organised by Klett Bulgaria in collaboration with Cambridge English Southern Europe and Cambridge University Press and followed a series of mini Cambridge Days that took place in Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv in February. The aim of this series of Cambridge events in Bulgaria is to provide the local teachers with useful tips on how to improve their teaching skills.

Cambridge English would like to thank you all once more for your continuous support as clearly demonstrated in the success of the recent Cambridge Day Sofia 2015 event. We look forward to seeing you all again in one of our future teacher events in Bulgaria.
