A department of Cambridge University is giving a chance for four teachers or other language teaching professionals to join colleagues from around the world for a four day conference in Birmingham, England.

Cambridge English is offering four all-expenses paid scholarships to attend the 2016 IATEFL conference, the leading event in the English Language Teaching calendar, from 13 – 16 April 2016. Applicants for the scholarships write a short text in response to a specified task, and the best submissions are chosen by an expert panel. 2016 marks the 50th Anniversary of the IATEFL Conference. Cambridge English is offering an additional scholarship to commemorate this occasion.

The Scholarships provide a rare opportunity for teachers who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference to network with other professionals from around the world. Alison Salm, winner of the 2015 Cambridge English: John Trim Scholarship, said the conference was “a wonderful opportunity to meet so many professionals with a passion for teaching. I felt part of a real community in which everyone could share ideas, experiences and knowledge”.

The deadline for applications is Thursday 13 August 2015. More information about previous winners, the application process and the tasks, can be found on our website.
