New pilot project with the Italian Ministry of Education

leave a comment »

Cambridge English Language Assessment and the Italian Ministry of Education are collaborating on a new pilot benchmarking project, aiming at measuring the level of English for students in the 3rd year of middle school, in Piemonte, Toscana, Campania and Secilia. The project is about a test delivered on computer that assesses Listening, Use of English and Reading skills and allows for group comparisons according to different criteria (ie skill, school type).

Participating schools will receive feedback on their students’ level, in the form of a group report, so that they develop a better understanding of their level, and will give their students the chance to sit the test in a friendly and supportive environment.

In the long term, the CB Benchmarking service will provide the Ministry with insight into school students’ current level of English and will guide them about where and how they can progress with their English Language learning.
